Cardinal Allen Catholic High School's student council invited the Rt Hon. the Lord McNally into their classroom for a question and answer session to help them get closer to Parliament.
Lord McNally of Blackpool is a member of the Blackpool Pride national advisory board and is Chairman of Fleetwood Trust.
The student councillors took the opportunity to ask the parliamentarian a host of questions about Parliament today and his role in the House of Lords which he entered in 1995.
Lord McNally said: "Question times are not always as enjoyable as this one has been!
I am grateful for the opportunity these brilliant young people have given me and I hope sharing my knowledge and experience will be beneficial for them now and in the future."
As well as discussing some of today's hot national topics, students were keen to learn more about the local landscape and developments closer to home including the plans for the former Fleetwood Hospital building which is currently under redevelopment by Fleetwood Trust.
Lord McNally added: "It's marvellous to hear just how passionate they all are about their town and their ideas for its future. I'm really looking forward to working with the school in the months ahead as the redevelopment progresses."
